敘利亞3歲難民小艾倫溺斃陳屍沙灘的悲慘畫面，令許多人為之鼻酸。美國加州許多越南裔移民與第二代感同身受，最近發起慈善競走以及推特影片活動，希望喚起更多人幫助敘國難民。

37歲的強納森?黃是加州橘郡芳泉谷市的脊骨神經醫師。他說，小艾倫與哥哥、母親乘小橡膠艇逃往希臘，卻因翻船不幸溺斃，這讓他「看到自己」。

當年黃還是嬰兒，家人搭船逃離越南，幸運抵達馬來西亞難民營。他說「我覺得歷史正在重演」。他與當地越裔同胞正發起一場4英里（約6.4公里）慈善競走，並提供醫療援助給敘國難民。

另一位51歲的越裔電影導演德克?阮，則在網路上辦活動，邀請網友拍影片上傳推特，表達對難民的關懷。他說自己青少年時逃出越南，在海上被美國海軍艦艇救起。今年夏天，他代表慈善組織向一些越裔移民募款卻碰釘子，決定換個方式。

從網路活動開始以後，阮獲得正面回應。他說，「我想要開創一個運動，讓民眾自己選擇要不要關心（難民危機）」。

30多年前，大批越南人也乘著小船逃出祖國，尋求更好的生活。有些人在途中死亡，有些先落腳附近國家的難民營然後到美國。現在美國越裔居民將近200萬人，他們影響力日增，在越裔人口最多的橘郡更是如此。
